SOOOOOO COOL!!!!!

In a nutshell, the Alexander Homestead is a fantastic B&B with a super location, an unbelievably friendly proprietor and staff plus a great breakfast and charming decor. What a perfect place!
Care for more detail?

My husband and I had never stayed at a B&B before; we always did the big hotels. We thought we’d give it a try after talking about it for a few years. I am so glad we chose Bonnie and the Alexander Homestead for our inaugural visit! What a great place!!

I’m one of those people who research things to death before making a decision (too much time on my hands?). I looked at, actually investigated, every B&B in St. Augustine for three days before making the decision and it really paid off!

The location is perfect. Unlike most of the other B&Bs, it’s off the beaten path but still very close to St. George Street, Flagler and anyplace else you’d care to walk to.

The Alexander Homestead is the most enchanting place. It’s furnished and decorated so precisely to the house’s architecture. Everything was a ’special touch’ right down to the antique mirror and brush on the vanity in our room. We were fortunate to make our reservations far enough ahead and have enough flexibility to choose between any of the rooms. We chose Alexandria. Again, what a great decision. The room was beautiful; even parts that I didn’t expect to care about, i.e the chandeliers. They were one of my favorite parts!! They added such a romantic feel.

Breakfast and the company that came along with it were super fantastic. The food was great and they were so accommodating. I’m a vegetarian and hadn’t even asked for anything special but they went out of their way to provide things I would eat. Bonnie’s homemade granola with the fruit and yogurt was my favorite each morning without a doubt. Great stuff!! Bonnie and her staff joined us for coffee and conversation each morning and the setting truly encouraged conversation between the guests as well.

My absolute favorite part of the stay was sitting out on the front porch with my coffee early each morning before anyone else was up and about. The birds were singing, the squirrels were playing and it was just beautiful. It was so incredibly peaceful!

I don’t think we could have enjoyed ourselves more or been happier with our stay at the Alexander Homestead. It was purely delightful. We recommend it highly, highly, highly!!!

Charming and Delightful

Alexander Homestead B&B is a truly charming and delightful place to stay, superb breakfast and great location. Easy walking to all the major attractions in old St. Augustine. Bonnie and her staff are wonderful host. “Will” stay here again!!! Strongly recommended.

Fabulous Bed And Breakfast

The Alexander Homestead is undoubtedly a superb bed and breakfast!!! Our room was absolutely beautiful, from the wood burning fireplace, to the romantic flowers throughout, to the jacuzzi whirlpool tub. We also had a private porch/ patio!!

Bonnie, our hostess, was wonderful!! She catered to every need that we had, going well above and beyond our expectations!! Our wedding was more stunning and perfect than we could have ever imagined, and sooo personal! Everything truly was perfect! Bonnie left no detail untouched–from taking care of all the last minute details, arranging for the photographer, and preparing a beautiful cake. Everything was perfect!

Breakfasts are great too!! The location of the B&B is ideal!! It is close to everything-we were able to walk to everything that historic Saint Augustine has to offer!!

When we do return to St Augustine, we will definitely return to the Alexander Homestead-time and time again!!

Had a great stay with friends in this wonderful B&B…

My husband and I, and another couple who are our friends, just returned from a wondeful trip to St. Augustine where we stayed in Alexander Homestead for 4 nights. We stayed in the rooms called Alexandria and Sweet William. We all very much enjoyed our stay. The rooms were nicely decorated and included many thoughtful amenities. We enjoyed the beverages Bonnie provided while sitting on the front porch in the evenings just relaxing and talking. It’s a peaceful feeling you only get from the front porch of an old house in an old neighborhood. We still miss the lovely breakfasts we had every morning, as well as the good conversation with other guests we met. This B&B is on a quiet street just a couple of blocks from the tram services, and it is also very near the heart of the downtown where there are so many great things to see and do. I highly recommend Alexander Homestead. We had a great time.

Wonderfully relaxing

My wife and I were fortunate enough to spend two wonderful nights at the Alexander Homestead and were amazed at the “so close, but yet so far away” feeling. We were easily able to walk to all the historic sites and as a bonus, St. Augustine’s finest restaurant, Opus 39, is just around the corner. Bonnie’s hospitality, knowledge of the area, and warm personality made this a wonderful stay. We truly felt like we were at home (without the dishes, laundry, kids, and constant phone ringing). What a wonderful way to spend your 15th anniversary, or any anniversary for that matter.

Great Time!

My husband and I had the opportunity to stay at the Alexander Homestead in April 2007. It was the first time we had stayed in a bed and breakfast and we were unsure of what to expect.

Well, we had such a wonderful time that we left planning our next visit.

We stayed in the Alexandria room. The room was beautiful and the covered porch was the perfect place to unwind. Breakfast was very good. We liked the little “extras” - coffee waiting outside our door in the morning, brandy each night and the afternoon “sweets”.

The location was perfect and we were able to walk everywhere in St Augustine.

We had a wonderful stay and highly recommend the Alexander Homestead to anyone visiting St. Augustine.

The BEST! Quiet location, wonderful room, will be back!

WOW! We spent three days here and were treated to great food (The recipes are on her website), a beautiful room, and more than I had expected for our Wedding ceremony Bonnie performed for us. This location far surpasses being in the middle of St. Augustine as it is very quiet but only a 5 minute walk from being in town. I feel we made a lifetime friend here and look forward to staying in each of the other rooms in the future. Our marriage will always be remembered by our wonderful time spent here, THANK YOU! PRAISE!!!!!

You’ll be spoiled!

My husband and I stayed here in February for 3 nights and we can’t wait to return! Bonnie is a consummate host who attends to every detail and leaves nothing overlooked. There was cake or cookies in the hallway everyday, coffee was ready early in the morning for a cup before breakfast, and breakfast was absolutely delicious! Fritattas, muffins, homemade granola with yogurt…wonderful. Located in the Historic District, the Inn is located on a side street, far enough away for peace and quiet but close enough to walk everywhere. Bonnie is very knowledgeable about the area and recommended a great place for dinner (The Purple Olive) as vegetarian cuisine is quite uncommon. This Inn is not to be missed!

A Great Little Trip!

My wife and I cannot say enough about Bonnie and Alexander Homestead. It is a beautiful and charming Victorian B&B. We loved our room and loved the food even more!. She takes care of details with baby soft sheets, coffee outside your door in the morning, great tourism recommendations, and wine to boot! It is a great location for a visit to St. Augustine with a very nice walk to old town. Her breakfast is amazing! We cannot wait to try her quiche at home. If you stay here you will not be disappointed!

Very beautiful and meaningful anniversary

Thursday, October 22nd, 2009

My wife Ann and I stayed at Alexander Homestead Bed and Breakfast for our first year anniversary. Bonnie was the most gracious host. She helped to make our time in Saint Augustine and our anniversary very beautiful and meanigful.I would like to say something to the men, the bed was outstanding, I slept very well! Bonnie made Ann and I feel as if we where part of her family visiting for the weekend. I could go on with my praise of the Alexerder Homestead, but it is my beautiful wife Ann’s turn to write.

The breakfast was so delicious and so much food. All the extra ammenties such as the wonderful toiletries ,bath robes, special decanters of after dinner drinks. We can”t say enough for our visit there. We have expressed this to our friends. It is a romatic place to stay. You are able to walk to the bayside at night and feel safe.

We do plan on going again.

Thanks Bonnie, Joe and Ann Winstead.

Alexander Homestead is a premier St. Augustine bed and breakfast resort, through the picturesque front porch from the old fashioned garden walkway you can hear strains of classical music and spy a small book of Emily Dickinson's poetry in the formal living room that is rich with antiques and romance.

The homestead has become Bonnie Alexander's sanctuary, where her guests return time and again to unwind from another time and place and slip into the sensual tranquility of the Alexander Homestead,
St. Augustine's most romantic bed and breakfast.
