This was our fist B&B stay and it was great! We could only stay one night (regretfully). There is complementary wine, beer and soda at your disposeal and bathtubs the size of jacuzzis, the breakfast was delicious and the rooms are absolutely gorgeous! STAY HERE!

Beautiful!
Monday, November 30th, 2009Gorgeous wedding at the Inn
Sunday, November 29th, 2009Our stay at the Homestead was perfect. The owner went out of her way to give us my Cinderella wedding. She paid attention to every detail and made sure it was just the way we wanted. The made-to-perfection breakfast was magnificient. It was from one extint w/ the homemade stuffed French toast and homemade syrup to the other w/ homemade breakfast quiche. Don’t worry about drinks. They make sure there is coffee in the morning waiting for you outside your door or alcoholic beverages for later in the evening. The owner made sure we had sparkling juice chilled in our room when we returned for the evening (considering we were honeymooning). No room is particularly better than the other. Every room has something unique of its own. It just depends on what you are looking for. I could go on and on but all I can say is that you won’t be disappointed. We were given the perfect wedding and the best honeymoon we could of asked for. Thanks Bonnie!!!

Thee Best B&B in the Southeast
Saturday, November 28th, 2009My wife and I had the pleasure of staying at the Alexander Homestead in St. Augustine to celebrate our 9 year wedding anniversary. This was our second trip to this wonderful establishment, and seeing that it was a number of years since our last stay, we were curious to how the Alexander may have changed since our previous visit.
We arrived to find the friendly and always helpful Bonnie there to meet us. She showed us to our beautiful room, the Alexander, which is the same room we stayed in before. The beauty of the Alexander was all around us. From the dining area to the bedroom and the bathroom, to the manicured front lawn, the Alexander Homestead is by far the best B&B we have ever stayed in, and we have stayed in a few in the Southeast.
One other quality that the Alexander Homestead posses is that it is off of Sevilla St., a residential street close to downtown, however, not in the middle of the hustle and bustle of constant traffic both vehicular and pedestrian. We were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go downtown within 10 minutes, and the peace and quiet of Sevilla St. was soaked in as we sat on our front porch and sipped Champagne.
Without a doubt, the breakfasts at the Alexander Homestead are superb. All of the guests eat together, and share their experiences of their visit during this time. Its as if you are at a realative’s house, and breakfast is served with everyone present. Of course, the world famous “Bonnie Biscuits” are out of this world, and this is the only place you will be able to sample them.
My wife and I enjoyed our weekend with no kids relaxing in beautiful St. Augustine. Without a doubt, the Alexander Homestead was the icing on the cake. Thank you Bonnie and the staff at the Alexander Homestead, we look forward to another weekend very soon.
Pampering and Relaxing!
Friday, November 27th, 2009What a weekend! For a time of simple treats and understated luxary the Alexander Homestead in St. Augustine, is the place to venture to. My husband and I have never had a romantic weekend away or stayed at a B & B before, so this was a much discovered treasure for us. Nestled in the United States oldest city is one of the quantist older homes, and of the best bed and breakfeasts for special treatment. The room we enjoyed was “Lady Grace” and a more delightful room we couldn’t find. The furnishings were perfect, the jacuzzi invigorating, and the service outstanding! My husband enjoys a nice strong hot cup of coffe before breakfeast every morning. When we woke up, right outside our room was just what he had requested with simple early morning treats ready for us to nibble on before the breakfeast feast. And what a feast breakfeast was! The food is all homemade, simple comfort foods that help start your day off right. Our favorite was the delicious orang juice and the Homemade French Toast with homemade Almond Syrup. We honestly felt like royalty with the fare set before us.
What made the bed and breakfeast even more special for us was the location. It was within easy walking distance to the wonderfull historic downtown area. After a tiring day of shopping it was a welcome sight to walk into the house with the lights gently burning and soft music playing and return to our suite for a night of uninterrupted sleep.
One of the treats that we enjoyed was adding the Fantasy Fest packlage onto our room. The service and special pampering that came with that made me feel like I was one of St. Augustine’s finest member of high society! I even cried when it was time to leave!
Overall it was an extrememly enjoyable stay! The food and service is outstanding! It was wonderful to have our names remembered and to be treated as if we were the most important people in the world. I have stayed in many hoytels but have now been sold on this bed and breakfeast! We can’t wait to book a weekend for our anniversary!
Very Relaxing and comfotable
Thursday, November 26th, 2009Relaxing, Comfortable., Peaceful!
Our stay at Alexander Homestead was wonderful! We traveled by motorcycle so upon arriving we were looking for air conditioned comfort — we found it here!. Bonnie let us keep our bike in the covered garage behind the inn, which was an added bonus.
The breakfast was great, especially the homemade granola with fruit — I wish they would come home with me and make this every morning!
On our last night there we were looking for a nice place to eat but we either would have to walk or ride the bike (which does nothing for my hair). While trying to decide Bonnie made the suggestion to let her call one of the restaraunts in the area and they will send their car to pick us up and take us back — PERFECT IDEA!. We didn’t even have to think about how to get there Bonnie did it for us.
Along with Bonnie the Inn’s owner, her sister Diane helps out on Mondays, she is a great asset to the Inn also.
I recommend this B&B to anyone that is staying in the St. Augustine area!
Thanks Bonnie & Diane
Great Getaway
Wednesday, November 25th, 2009If there were a rating higher than excellent that would be the category we would place the Alexander Homestead B&B in. We cannot say enough about the hospitality shown there. Bonnie Alexander, Owner/Innkeeper went out of her way to make our stay most enjoyable. The two and three course homemade breakfasts were to die for as were the chocolate chip cookies left for the guests on the hall credenza. She took care of making restaurant reservations for us and securing their courtesy cars for pick up and return for our convenience which we greatly appreciated. The Alexander Homestead has been lovingly restored to it’s Victorian splendor by her and it shows in every little detail. It was such an enjoyable and friendly atmosphere that we hated to leave. Would definitely stay there again when in the St Augustine area……….50th Anniversary Celebrants:)
loved the ambiance
Tuesday, November 24th, 2009We just returned from St. Augustine for a celebratory weekend away. My husband and my daughter searched the web looking for a reputable, well reviewed bed and breakfast and came across the Alexander Homestead. Lucky for me that they did because not only was the room straight out of the Victorian era making me feel like I was in another place and time but the food made me feel that way as well. Bonnie is a wonderful hostess and a magnificent cook. Her “world famous biscuits” are a reason in itself to travel to St. Augustine. I would definitely recommend staying here and in fact I am planning to go back with the rest of my family and we will all stay at Bonnie’s.
Lovely, with a few exceptions
Monday, November 23rd, 2009My husband and I spent our first wedding anniversary at Alexander Homestead. We stayed in the first story room, Lady Grace. This is a King bed room and the most expensive of the rooms. The overall experience was wonderful and refreshing, especially the food.
The breakfast was the best we’ve had at a B&B. The house was very clean and beautiful. The location was great; nice, quiet and convenient. We would definitely recommend Alexander Homestead to others.
Wow!!!
Sunday, November 22nd, 2009My husband and I stayed at the Alexander Homestead for our 11 year anniversary. Our room was beautiful, and the service was the best. Bonnie is a true delight! The little extras are what puts the Alexander above the rest.
Alexander Homestead is great!!!!
Saturday, November 21st, 2009The Alexander Homestead is an excellent Bed and Breakfast. In fact, it had ruined us for all other B and B’s. Bonnie and her team are gracious hosts and make you feel so welcome. The inn is beautiful and furnished appropriately for the the period of the house (late 1880’s). The beds are heaven to sleep in and the bathrooms are deluxe. Also, the room we always stay in (been there 4 times) has a screened-in porch to enjoy. The inn is within quick walking distance of historic St Augustine so there is no hassle with the very limited parking in the city. There is early morning coffee outside your room prior to coming down to breakfast (which is always delicious) and that makes your morning start a little easier. We were married at the Homestead and recommended two other couples to be married there as well. If you are looking for a B and B in St. Augustine you can stop your search, this is the one!
